Bubble Rocket
My gorgeous boys. Nathan was playing with his bubble rocket and Eli would hysterically laugh every time the rocket popped off. That’s the first time they have really played and interacted with each other. Nathan was pleased as punch to be able to make his brother laugh. Such beautiful brothers.
* In retrospect
We were spending the week on a Scripture Union camp. I had to give up most of my responsibilities to look after the kids. There was another family with three small children that Nathan adored playing with, but they had to leave part way through. This $10 bubble rocket from Aldi was our life saver. He loved it, played on it time after time. In fact its a month later and it’s probably still his favourite toy. It just proves it doesn’t have to be pricey to win a child’s heart.
A highlight of the camp for me was having the opportunity to lead two girls to Christ. It may not be a first, but it’s the first in a while. A lot of the time, I sow seeds. This time I reaped the benefit of others hard work. These girls have been on a long journey, and I was just in the right place to be able to bring them through the door and direct them to the King. It all fell into place. It was the last day of small groups, and I had been pretty much unable to attend any others because, being high school girls, they were all completely distracted by my two wonderful kids. But on this day, one of the guy leaders offered to take Nathan and another camper took Eli and I got to be with my group! Amazing how God allowed me that opportunity. It would have happened anyway, some how. God had their number, but to allow me to be a part of it. It felt like a huge privilege.
